ATHIRAPPALLI & VAZHACHAL FALLS (INDIA)

Athirappalli and Vazhachal, the two scenic and popular waterfalls on the edge of the Sholayar forest ranges are just 5 km apart. Athirappally is located 78 kms from Kochi, located at the entrance to Sholayar ranges, this waterfall is a popular picnic spot. Athirappally Falls is about 80ft. high and located in the forest area. Combined with the greenery, it infuses freshness into any tired soul. The Athirapally Falls join the Chalakkudy River after plummeting a drop of 80 feet. Vazhachal is a picturesque spot just a short drive from Athirapally and is adjacent to dense green forestland. Vazhachal is part of the Chalakkudy River. Both the waterfalls, their cool, misty waters cascading down in the backdrop of thick green forest and rocky terrain, are a scintillating experience to visitors.

JUNGFRAU-ALETSCH-BIETSCHHORN (SWITZERLAND)

The Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn Region is now labelled World Natural Heritage by UNESCO. Known for the extraordinary beauty of its land-scape, it is the first and only site in the Alps to bear this honorable distinction.The AletschGlacier is the biggest glacier in the Alps, with a length of 23 km.To cross the Aletsch Glacier is to take a magnificent journey into a stunning world of ice and rocks, Alpine flowers and forests.

NANPU BRIDGE (CHINA)

The Nanpu Bridge is located at the South Dock in Shanghai, China. Nanpu bridge is the first bridge on the Huangpu River. Tourists can take the elevator to get to the sidewalk of the bridge and overlook the scenery on both banks of the Huangpu River.

RED SQUARE & KREMLIN (RUSSIA)


Both the Red Square and the seat of government Kremlin are located at the heart of Moscow.The city of Moscow was founded in 1156 as a seat for the czars. The current Kremlin dates from the 19th century. It consists of several buildings: churches, palaces and places in political use. A red brick wall surrounds the complex. The St. Basils Cathedral is the well known, colorful building with the towers that decorates the Red Square. It is an example of classical Russian building, and was founded by Iwan the Terrible. The colors were added later.


EIFFEL TOWER (PARIS)

Built for the 1889 International Exhibition, Paris, the centenary celebration of the French Revolution. On the Av. Gustave Eiffel, by the river Seine and is 300 m (985 ft) tall. The Eiffel Tower at night is one of the great sights of Paris and shouldn't be missed. The gold lighting highlights the delicacy of the steelwork in a way that is missed in daylight

TAJ MAHAL (INDIA)

Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world. built by a Muslim, Emperor Shah Jahan (died 1666 C.E.) in the memory of his dear wife and queen Mumtaz Mahal at Agra, India. It is an "elegy in marble" is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queen Mumtaz Mahal at the lower chamber. The grave of Shah Jahan was added to it later. Taj Mahal was constructed over a period of twenty-two years, employing twenty thousand workers. It was completed in 1648 C.E. at a cost of 32 Million Rupees. Its central dome is fifty-eight feet in diameter and rises to a height of 213 feet. It is flanked by four subsidiary domed chambers. The four graceful, slender minarets are 162.5 feet each. The entire mausoleum (inside as well as outside) is decorated with inlaid design of flowers and calligraphy using precious gems such as agate and jasper. The main archways, chiseled with passages from the Holy Qur’an and the bold scroll work of flowery pattern, give a captivating charm to its beauty. The central domed chamber and four adjoining chambers include many walls and panels of Islamic decoration.
The mausoleum is a part of a vast complex comprising of a main gateway, an elaborate garden, a mosque (to the left), a guest house (to the right), and several other palatial buildings. The Taj is at the farthest end of this complex, with the river Jamuna behind it. The large garden contains four reflecting pools dividing it at the center. Each of these four sections is further subdivided into four sections and then each into yet another four sections. Like the Taj, the garden elements serve like Arabesque, standing on their own and also constituting the whole.

KILAUEA VOLCANO (HAWAII)


The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island is the home of Hawaii's active Kilauea volcano. The active volcano in Volcanoes National Park does not normally shoot molten magma high into the air with massive explosions. This did occur frequently from 1983, when the current lava flow first erupted, to the early 1990's. Since the early 1990's there have been infrequent violent eruption displays. The molten magma has flowed non-stop since 1983 with the flow currently traveling from the Kilauea caldera to Pu'u O'o vent through lava tubes.

IGUAZU FALLS (BRAZIL)

Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian border. These falls are the largest cluster of water falls in the world. They span 2.5 miles. The river that feeds the falls generates enough electricity to power 1/5 of the 200 million people in Brazil .
